I guess My question is I had my appeal on June 10 and haven’t heard anything yet just wondering if its a good or bad thing if it takes longer for a decision ..I live in KY also I was never sat down or wrote up for this it happen almost 3 months before I was fired when they did talk to me about what I had done they waited three more weeks then fired me they didn’t write me up suspend me they had me write a statement on what happen. I rang my own transaction on the register and upgraded my phone with my dads account When I did this I had no bad intentions and partnered with a other manager when I did the transaction and the upgrade and also my dad approved me to use his phone upgrade on his account But my district manager was trying to get me out because I had been going through a divorce and was having a hard time so when I had to go get surgery she came in and I guess was trying to find stuff so she could fire me and it worked even though I had no bad intentions and I had partnered up with another manager when I came back after 2 weeks she pretty much said I was in violation of rule and policy and made me write a statement on what happen and said she would get back with me then 3 weeks latter let me go nothing ever happen with the other manager again I have been there for 16 years and in the last 8 years have only been wrote up 2 times for performance I had even been promoted in the last 8 months because of how good I was doing before the divorce. Now at the hearing she was saying things like I was being shady trying to make me look bad .. she also stated that she had come in to the store when I was out for surgery and the moral was down and performance had been down and that’s why she asking what was going on .. so my question with her saying that and not having any prior warnings and really I wasn’t trying to do bad what do you think my chances are?
Hi Roger,
How long does it take to destroy sixteen years of being a good employee? The split second it takes to make the choice to do something the good emplo9yee should reasonably know they shouldn’t do.
You’ve probably received that hearing decision by now, but clearly you had some issues before the discharge. I wouldn’t know what to ask you about first if I were accepting new questions.
How the divorce possibly affected your attitude or performance?
What the surgery for?
Or the reason for discharge – A violation of the company discount policy .. or something similar.
Focusing on the cause for discharge and trying to rebut with testimony and evidence that it was not for intentional work related misconduct is always the best course of action at an unemployment appeal hearing.
