There is a difference between free unemployment advice and the expert assistance you get when you use a certain type of individual’s unemployment services, focused on how to win unemployment hearings.
I learned this as a hearing coordinator and I know what I think makes a hearing rep as well qualified to coach an employee, or fully represent them at a hearing, as they are when their client is an employer. They also have experience at many different state unemployment hearings, as many states adhere to a telephone format for conducting lower level, or the first and only level for unemployment appeal hearings.
The hearings reps I work with (they don’t work for me) helped to bring my idea of a referral service for claimants to fruition, during one of the worst recessions we’ve ever experienced. And the process for referrals still begins with a free evaluation.
A free eval is essential for a hearing rep, to determine if they think your case to collect unemployment benefits is also a winnable unemployment appeal hearing.
To be clear, I understand it may dash the hopes of some unemployed people with no money to spare, to know a free case eval is not another avenue I’ve intended for you to use to search for more free advice .. unless the free eval result in being advised why a rep won’t take your case for a flat fee.
However, I’ve been known to offer free advice when emailed, on the blog, and once in a blue moon by phone, when I was the only one here willing to coach people. I even have testimonials from the early days of unemployment services for claimants .. way back in 2009.

The Cost of Unemployment Appeal Representation After the Free Eval
If your state is listed above you might be anxious to click here, find the email form and request a free case referral.
But not so fast. Let me give you a ballpark idea of what the typical fee might be, keeping in mind, the initial consultation is free, so the hearing rep can know if they are willing to take your case .. and how challenging it may be to win.
When a rep is willing to represent your case, it’s because there’s at least some merits to work with. Since I would receive a finder fee, if you engage the unemployment services of a hearing rep, I know the typical cost of representation ranges from $300 to $600.
For those who cannot afford the cost of unemployment representation, you may want to check the box indicating you want to inquire about the cost of coaching.
Although coaching may be better than going it alone at a hearing, my thought is coaching with a hearing rep is better suited for learning .. and getting your ducks in a row, prior to an initial eligibility interview.
But don’t worry .. if you have any questions about this process, or even if you want to get my thought on your unemployment claim .. after you submit the form below, I send an automated email with my personal email address .. and phone number.
Because making transparent what I’m trying to do here with this website .. is part of my job duties here.
