Well, I really don’t know what to say but a customer pissed me off and i called the customer stupid. I Didn’t actually call them stupid but I typed it on the receipt as their name, and the customer saw it and told my manager, I don’t know what I was thinking, but my manager asked another worker to get a copy of the receipt….will i get fired and if i do what are the chances of me collecting unemployment?
Hi Phillip,
I don’t know if you’ll get fired. But I’ll tell you what .. I’m wondering now, who’s more stupid .. you or the customer. I’d normally tell someone who is fired for customer complaints that it’s a tough one for an employer to sell as misconduct because most customers will not appear as witnesses at an unemployment hearing and employer don’t always ask for a statement from the customer.
You, on the other hand “documented the insult”. I don’t know what you were thinking either .. although I have to apologize because I’m getting a serious chuckle out of this.
If your employer doesn’t fire you .. go forth and learn to muzzle your impulses .. even if the customer deserves it.
