I HAVE REPORTED TO HUMAN RESOURCES AND TO SUPERIORS OF A HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE THREATENED ME AND MADE FUN OF ME – THEY HAD A MEETING A ADVISED ME THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM IN THE DEPT FOR SOMETIME BUT YET IT CONTINUED CAN I COLLECT BENEFITS IF I QUIT DUE TO THE HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT ?

Please try to understand that you, just like most people who ask me whether you can collect unemployment if you quit due to a hostile work environment or for any other reasons, rarely give me adequate information to make an assessment and even then I would be inclined to ask you a whole lot of questions.
Have you filed a complaint with the state and made the employer aware you have done so?
Have you spoken to a lawyer? Because if things are as bad as you say .. you need to.
It is so important to know how to use your rights in the workplace.
What’s your goal .. to keep your job and get the employer to end the harassment or is it to collect some money and just get out?
It’s important to understand that just to collect unemployment benefits you have to be able to “PROVE” good cause for quitting .. I have no idea what kind of documentation you have in your possession to do this.
If you would like to discuss this with me I’m very willing, but in any event I think you need to talk to someone and frankly, I suggest an employment attorney.
