My mother has had a couple strokes and is unable to drive and her memory isn’t what it once was. My father passed away in Aug last year. I don’t want to be on unemployment for ever, only until I find a job. Would this fall under “good cause”?
Hi Loretta,
North Carolina does have a provision that would allow benefits for your circumstances, but it does require medical documentation from a physician. Please read the statute It’s on this page
So if you prepare it will be seen as with good cause.
