Can I reopen my UI claim after claiming disability for the last 9 months?

I opened a UI claim back in June of 2008 and was on extensions until March of 2010. I then went on disability from March 2010 until December 2010, and have since been released to work. Can I reopen my original claim to continue receiving UI benefits?

A benefit claim is reopened when the BYE of the last benefit year has not yet expired the claim.

I am collecting from nys but might have a part time job one day a week in Nj. Do I hÃ¡ve to report it to unemployment as I am only working one day a week????? Will my benefits be reduced by this????

Yes, you have to answer the questions on a continuing claim form honestly ..

Most states disregard a certain portion of any earnings before reducing the benefit amount .. so if you don’t earn more than your weekly benefit amount .. in the long run .. you would actually be bringing in an amount per week equal to the disregarded amount .. more than just collecting.
