Hi
I drove for Greyhound bus Lines and have been employed there for 2 years. During my 2 years Ive had 2 prior minor collisions 1. cracked window no body damage 2. A broken convex mirror to another bus that was parked beside mine no body damage in garage. Both were chargable accidents as they claim. Ive drove clear for a whole year with no accidents recently I pull into loading slip and cracked bumper in front of bus. No one saw what happened but me and 2 passengers on bus my coffee spilled n my lap. A week later I was termed for violating company safety record! They contacted no witnesses I collected statements. There are other drivers with less experience than I have, had that are still there and they let me go and now are fighting my benefits what should I do? How should I file my appeal no witnesses were contacted.
Find another job .. other drivers don’t matter. What matter is whether the employer can sustain they had good cause to fire you.
First there is the element of carelessness and negligence and secondly you made a statement that bothers me .. you said ..
“No one saw what happened but me and 2 passengers on bus my coffee spilled n my lap. A week later I was termed for violating company safety record!”
Did you report the damage? Does the employer have a policy about reporting any incident or accident?
