If I am collecting unemployment benefits but working a commission only job, what happens when I receive a commission check?
Hi Debbie,
In relationship to what? Do you want to know if it the commission check will effect your benefit check?
Do you want to know if you have to report the commission when you file your weekly claim?
Do you want to know if you have to report the check or what happens if you don’t.
I guess I’ll just have to make another assumption and I really hate to do that.
You must report earnings in the week they are earned .. not received. Ohio will magically apply their partial unemployment calculating formula which allows them to disregard earnings equaling 1/5 of your weekly benefit amount before they start reducing dollar for dollar the excess in earnings.
Under no circumstances will they give you any benefit when combined with the reduced earnings that is over the WBA.
