After 9 1/2 yrs I was switched to a department with work I had never done before. They switched me from hourly to piece rate. The supervisor constantly at my desk telling me what I did wrong. Their idea of training is to look at policy and procedures on the computer for the job. No actual training. Written up for forgetting the badge to get in, written up for forgetting to sign off on a log for breaks for the first time in 9 1/2 yrs. Never had trouble until put in this department and always had good yearly reviews. Written up for something I supposedly did wrong but they have yet to prove. Given 1 month to conform and improve, if not then I am fired.
Hi Pamela,
Well, they are writing you up for things that can be considered misconduct because they are rule violations.
How long ago were you transferred and why were you transferred. And did switching from hourly to piece work decrease your earnings?
If you are fired for low production levels after being transferred to different work for which you aren’t qualified or refused training to help you succeed you might be able to get benefits.
