I just had an appeal hearing because I was denied unemployment and I appealed it. My employer did not show up, does this usually mean I will get the denial reversed since they were not there to protest it?
Hi Jodi,
It very often does result in a reversal of benefits, but before you go getting all excited .. I think you should be aware that the employer may not have appeared because they requested a postponement and it was denied.
It is entirely within the realm of possibility that they will be able to have the matter reopened and another hearing will be scheduled. I did this all the time.
