I have been unemployed for 5 months (involuntary job elimination)..which qualified me as a displaced worker. I collected for 4 months and then my checks stopped. Now that UB have been restored…what date do they actually start? I keep checking online and it tells me my actual date to sign up is 12/06/2010 which was weeks ago. ??? Doesn’t make any sense and I can’t get a straight answer from FLUID. (that name is a joke) Many of my co-workers are still collecting, but not all of us. I worked there for 3 years before they eliminated my department. Have never been unemployed before and this is a nightmare. Help!!
Hi,
I don’t think I can be of much help to you, but maybe someone else can.
Personally, I think the main problem is just the State of Florida. They are not very efficient.
The bill passed for an additional year or 13 months I think because it was retroactive back to the date the last extension lapsed so the only hold up has got to be on the states end .. You should be receiving something in the mail from Florida .. in fact I would expect that you should have received something by now at least explaining what the new extension might mean to everyone that was waiting on it.
Let’s ask someone else in Florida if they know anything.
Does anyone know anything about what Florida is doing to get those qualified for an extension receiving checks again?
